Principal / Senior Electrical EngineerDTI is seeking a Principal / Senior Electrical Engineer. DTI has a strong, ongoing program to compete for grants under the SBIR program, and a successful record of bringing products to market which were initially funded by SBIR grants. This position will manage SBIRs from proposal stage through each phase, and manage the effort to bring the new technologies to the market place. This position may act as the PI (Principal Investigator) on DOE and DoD contracts, where applications may include,
radar, ion implantation, and PEF food processing. In addition, the scope of work will involve design, construction, and test of high voltage, high power, pulsed components and modulator systems, typically driving vacuum tube loads. Familiarity with high voltage vacuum tubes, solid-state switch design, and high voltage power conversion techniques is preferred. This position reports to a senior member of the Management Team. Responsibilities: - Write SBIR proposals
- Develop the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, monitoring progress to maintain those schedules and budgets
- Oversee and manage all aspects of engineering work on SBIRs and other projects to ensure they are completed and delivered on time, and that deliverables are fully documented.
- Develop methodology to take SBIRs to the market place
- Design high voltage pulsed power systems and components
- Test populated circuit boards
- Provide test site support
Requirements: - Understanding of basic federal government contract law
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal kills with experience writing government grant proposals
- Project management experience and best PM practices skills
- Experience working both independently and within a team-oriented, collaborative environment with the ability to work with all levels of staff
- Ability to develop scope of work, budgets, schedules, and monitor progress to achieve schedules and budgets
- Experience in a wide range of commercial and military project requirements is beneficial
- Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
- US citizen or permanent resident
Education: Masters or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Systems Engineering Experience: Minimum 5-7 years experience Travel: Occasional travel to customer sites required (domestic and foreign) |
