DTI is seeking a Principal Engineer.  DTI has a strong, ongoing program to compete for grants under the SBIR program and long and successful record of bringing products to market which were initially funded by SBIR grants. This position will manage SBIR’s from proposal stage through each Phase as well as manage the effort to bring the new technologies to the market place. This position may act as the PI (Principal Investigator) on a number of DoE and DoD contracts where applications may vary from radar to ion implantation and PEF food processing.

Responsibilities:

• Write SBIR proposals
• Develop the scope of engineering work, schedules, and budgets for the assigned project elements, monitoring progress to maintain those schedules and budgets.
• Oversee and manage all aspects of engineering work on SBIR’s and other projects to ensure projects are completed and delivered on time and deliverables are fully documented.
• Develop methodology to take SBIR’s to the market place

Requirements:

• Understanding of basic federal government contract law
• Must have excellent analytical and conceptual skills.
• Excellent writing skills and experience writing government grant proposals
• Project Management experience and best PM practices skills
• Ability to develop scope of work, budgets, schedules and monitor progress to achieve schedules and budgets.
• Candidate must be capable of supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills insure working well with all levels of staff.
• US Citizen or permanent resident

Education:   MS Minimum
Experience: 5-7 years minimum
Travel:          Occasional travel to customer sites required (domestic and foreign)
