DTI is seeking a creative and dedicated Senior Mechanical Engineer with a graduate degree or equivalent experience, and 5+ years experience. The successful candidate will have proficiency in modeling CAD (SolidworksTM), good hands-on skills, ability to work well in multi-disciplinary teams and desire to learn new skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop mechanical designs using SolidworksTM
• Transition of design work into finished detailed packages.
• Strong knowledge of machine shop practices with design of machined parts and sheet metal fabrications.
• Handles multiple projects; provide technical guidance to team members.
• Manage design tasks. Interface with other engineering disciplines including electrical hardware, software and systems engineering as required in the design efforts.
• Follow through.

Requirements:

• Ability to working effectively in a multidisciplinary team consisting of scientists, engineers, technicians, machinists, and customers.
• Knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, and AutoCAD required.
• Ability to be flexible and respond to changing priorities.
• Candidate must be capable of supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-guided and active team player.
• Must have excellent conceptual skills and very detail oriented.
• Must be highly motivated, self-starter, requires minimum supervision
• Important characteristics necessary to perform the job: Initiative/Creativity with precision, Time Management Skills, Flexibility, ability to work well with others and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• US Citizen or permanent resident

Education:     BSME or equivalent is required, Master’s is preferred.
Experience:   5 years minimum
Travel:           Occasional travel to domestic and foreign customer sites required
